Our Curriculum

The curriculum at Meadowbank school is designed to reflect the needs of our learners.  It ensures that the pupils have every available opportunity to learn, grow and flourish using a pupil-centred approach, allowing each individual to develop life-long skills that will enable them to reach their full potential.  Using a child development approach, the curriculum ensures that learners are able to access their learning journey at the stage appropriate for them and a pace that they set.

Our learners are given opportunities to develop their skills so that they can realise the ‘four purposes’; to be healthy, confident individuals, as well as capable, ambitious learners who are enterprising, creative contributors and ethically informed citizens.

The curriculum provides learning opportunities across the six areas of learning and experience, and the five developmental pathways, encouraging the learners to access a broad and varied range of activities.  Encompassing the ‘What matters’ statements, our curriculum ensures that the learners are given contextual and experiential learning opportunities that best support their development throughout their time in Meadowbank school.
